When Billy Donovan left the University of Florida to coach the OKC Thunder, he landed in one of the best coaching gigs in the league. But in just a few years, it’s possible that it could be one of the worst.
Kevin Durant becomes a free agent this summer and Russell Westbrook the year after. Growing speculation suggests that the two will bolt OKC and team up in Los Angeles. Per Stephen A. Smith, the Lakers believe that at least Westbrook will eye the Staples Center.
“Keep in mind this, one of the biggest reasons I’m told, that Kevin Durant may have the Lakers at the top of his list, is because the Lakers have been led to believe, by whom specifically I do not know, but the Lakers have been led to believe that it is a very good chance that the following year Russell Westbrook is coming….
“It’s a big possibility,” Smith said. “It’s a big possibility.”
