HS Player Duece Bello Pulls Off Rondo Fake And Jam In Summer League Game

June 16, 2010 – Allen Moll

A player knows when they have finally made it as a rising superstar when the basketball’s current crop of younger players in high school or college start to emulate their trademark moves. Such is the case for the Boston Celtics out of this world point guard Rajon Rondo, who at only 25 years of age, probably was emulating the moves of MJ, Kobe, and Steve Nash on his come-up only a few short years ago. While he is undoubtedly the most important player on the floor for Boston during this year’s tightly contested NBA Finals, the former Kentucky Wildcat is a joy to watch, especially when he is pulling off those sweet around-the-world ball fakes during games.

I found some video footage of one of the high school ranks’ best dunkers, the 6’3 Duece Bello, obviously emulating the Celtics star, by doing his now famous ball fake followed by a thunderous slam over the competition. If you recall, TheHoopDoctors.com has run a few pieces on Bello, who has become a mainstay on ESPN and hoop sites across the net for pulling off an Eastbay dunk off of two feet  in live game action. This time around Bello was showing out at the Pangos All American Camp on his way to earning the MVP of the event. Watch out for Duece this year as one of the rising guards in all of the 2011 class along with teammates Ike Nwamu and Top 5 player in the class, and Kevin Durant clone, Quincy Miller.
