John Wall’s sneaker from last season, the Zig Encore, was much better than his first for so many reasons. The Zig Slash was a good idea that wasn’t executed the best and felt rushed which is probably why it was notorious for having Reebok’s proprietary Zig sole separate from the sneaker so easily. Needless to say the Zig Escape had no where to go but up.
For Wall’s second shoe, the Zig bottom was retooled and fastened on and much better versions, in comparison to the first sneaker, were made like the standard Wizards and ‘All-Star’ colorways. Reebok looks to continue with this winning formula as seen here in these early samples of the upcoming Zig Escape.
Here you can see some great looking sneakers like a very Washington Wizards-friendly colorway, a pair with grey digi-camo throughout the upper, and two others whose inspiration is not known yet so anything I’d write would only be a guess. These are much more toned down than the pair created for the Reebok Basketball Summit from earlier in the month.
