Antoine Walker Announces Retirement From Basketball

Recently, much has been made about the fact that Antoine Walker has been playing in the D-League solely because he’s broke. One thought to be one of the more popular guys in the league, it’s sad to see. This season, Walker was playing for the Idaho Stampede, but has decided to call it quits. Wonder what he’ll do for money now. We hope it’s nothing illegal.

Former Boston Celtic Antoine Walker announced his retirement from basketball on Saturday night in the Idaho Stampede locker room following their win against the Bakersfield Jam, according to a team statement. The 35 year old is expected to make a formal retirement announcement in the coming days. Marc Spears from Yahoo! Sports first reported Walker’s retirement. Walker, a 12-year NBA veteran, joined the Stampede (NBA Development League) last season and played 87 games for the team. He entered Saturday’s game averaging 9.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game and scored six points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3PG) and four rebounds in 20 minutes in the win
