Tillman Fertitta, CEO and owner of Landry’s, Inc., agreed to purchase the Houston Rockets from Leslie Alexander on Tuesday for an NBA-record $2.2 billion.
One of his first orders of business: Letting Beyoncé know he would love for her to join the ownership group in some way.
The singer/songwriter/dancer/actress previously expressed interest in purchasing a stake in the team. So, naturally, TMZ caught up with Fertitta to ask him about it, to which he responded (via USA Today‘s Alysha Tsuji):
“Beyoncé’s a wonderful, wonderful ambassador for Houston. To have anybody like Beyoncé to join my team in some capacity, I would truly appreciate. Beyoncé is Beyoncé. She’s our most favored woman in Houston. It’d be great to have her involved in any way.”

Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z have seen their collective net worth climb above $1 billion, according to CNN. So if Fertilla is really interested in minority stake holders—particularly high-profile ones—Beyoncé has both the means and motive to join his venture.
