Native American themed mascots, logos and team names are pervasive all over the professional and collegiate sports scene, but rarely do they truly pay homage.
The alternate uniforms that the Thunder unveiled on Monday do seem to be the rare instance where the culture is being honored and not parodied or done in a disrespectful way (cough Redskins and Indians cough).
Look what came our way. It appears to be a photo of the Thunder's new "City Edition" uniform for this season, with a Native American influence. Very nice! pic.twitter.com/4iyUKnEalq

I am fully on board with these from an aesthetic perspective and a societal perspective.
These will serve as the Thunder’s “City” uniforms for the 2018-19 season.
The state of Oklahoma has the second largest Native American population in the United States and the deepest roots as it is the first recorded region to have human population in North America.
I expect the Thunder to enter the western conference’s top tier again this season and they will look good doing it.
