Late Tuesday night, as it became clear Donald Trump would be the next president of the United States, Joel Embiid took to Twitter with some thoughts:

I’m torn between laughter and sadness.
On the one hand, Americans really voted a misogynistic, bigoted, man-child imp into the most powerful seat in the country. This is a sad, sad time, and an indictment of how much racism and chauvinism and narrow mindedness and rampant cases of general dumb-assery still exist in the U.S. today.
On the other hand, though, Joel Embiid is hysterical, and topical, and exactly the kind of lighthearted individual to remind us that life goes on, and that Trump can slaughter our faith in America, but can’t stop us from enjoying 140 characters of sheer gold.
Here’s hoping Embiid is up to keeping us entertained for the next four years, with the harrowing possibility of another four after that.
