Mavs Coach Rick Carlisle Didn’t Want to See Video of Rajon Rondo Trying to Trip Deron Williams

Rick Carlisle doesn’t have time for anymore of Rajon Rondo’s shenanigans.

Not even if they could have been potentially detrimental to the livelihood of his Dallas Mavericks.

Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle never really seemed to get along during the former’s stint in Dallas last season, hence why he ended up off the team midway through a second-round playoff push and is now a member of the Sacramento Kings. But in the Mavericks’ 117-116 double overtime victory against those Kings on Tuesday night, Rondo tried to trip his successor, Deron Williams, from the sidelines as he was going up for a jump shot.

HoopsHype provided a pretty damning clip of what happened:

Um, wow.

I’m not a fan of calling someone I don’t know a garbage human being, and Rondo has done a lot of charitable acts off the court. But this, coupled with him directing anti-gay slurs at NBA referee Bill Kennedy, who is now openly gay, is not a good look.

So you might think Carlisle would want to know it, and then see it once he knew about it.

Apparently not, though. Per ESPN.com’s Tim MacMahon:

Maybe Carlisle knows Rondo and knows there’s no way he didn’t try to trip D-Will and therefore doesn’t see any point in watching it. Maybe he actually has already watched it. Maybe he doesn’t ever want to watch it.

Or Maybe, just maybe, it matters not that Carlisle or anyone else on the Mavericks watches it, but that the NBA watches it, and then accordingly punishes Rondo for yet another act of general human indecency.
