Watch: Kentucky’s James Young Miraculous Save Into The Wrong Basket

There has been a ton of hype surrounding just how good this year’s Kentucky team can be considering they once again have the top incoming recruiting class in the country, consisting of 6 McDonald’s All Americans, most noticeable potential #1 overall pick Julius Randle.

There has even been some talk of the Wildcats potentially going 40-0 to take home their 2nd National Championship in the past 3 seasons.

Along with all of the talk around Randle being Lebron-esque, most other experts quickly point to fellow freshmen, and twin brothers to boot, Andrew and Aaron Harrison, as Coach Cal’s 2nd and 3rd options on offense.

And let’s not forget returning sophomores Willie Cauley Stein and Alex Poythress, who have gotten some love in most early Mock Drafts as 1st Rounders.

But the player that may be getting the most buzz early in the exhibition season may be small forward James Young, who has NBA scouts drooling over his length and insane scoring ability as a ready made pro, just waiting to finish out his required 1 season of college basketball.

Yesterday, Kentucky just finished their 2nd preseason tilt against DivisionII power Montevallo, winning 95-72, most would expect Randle’s 21 points and 11 boards, or Poythress’ vicious throwdown dunk to be the top highlight of the evening.

But it was this miraculous save by Young near halfcourt, trying to keep a Cauley Stein dunk inbounds, that made the SportsCenter highlights because, you guessed it, the ball went in the wrong basket………
