One of the more impressive and under the radar feats in the NBA over the past six seasons or so is the unmatched durability of Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson.
Thompson has played in 447 straight NBA games over the past six seasons, until Wednesday’s game against the Celtics because he sprained his thumb on Tuesday and will now miss two weeks.

Thompson’s streak was the longest active streak in the NBA, and that sort of iron man level of durability is a rare site in today’s NBA with few players playing the full 82 games in a season.
Thompson may not be ready for Game 1 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, but he should be back and in the swing of things before the intensity heightens for the Cavaliers in their title defense.
The longest consecutive games played streak in NBA history is A.C. Green, who played in 1.192 straight games, or 14 and a half seasons straight. Don’t count on that ever being topped.
