Dwight Howard may be a shell of his former self, but he’s still very effective. He’ll still alter shot and clog up the lane. This season, he’s averaging 13 points and 13 rebounds for the playoff-bound Hawks.
Believe it or not, this is Dwight’s 13th NBA season. And one thing that never goes, is that rebounding and defensive knack, which he clearly has. That should allow him to stick around in the league for several more years. But what about the Hall of Fame? He certainly thinks so, and he definitely has a strong case.
Do you feel like you’ve built a resume worthy of induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame?
No doubt. It’s kind of got swept under the rug because the perception of all the things that happened in Orlando. All of the media stuff. If you look at basketball itself, and I don’t ever talk about myself, but winning three Defensive Player of the Year trophies has never been done. Leading the league in rebounding six straight years. All that kind of stuff, I think that deserves it.
