Russell Westbrook is an untamed beast on a basketball court, combining his gazelle like speed and grace with the explosiveness of a kangaroo and the agression of a lion to annihilate his foes on the NBA hardwood.
He has been stuffing stat sheets to Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson levels this season with an incredible 16 triple-doubles on the season. The most since Magic Johnson in 1987.
He has ratcheted up his triple-double prowess to even greater heights in the month of March, after last night’s 26 point, 12 assist and 11 rebound performance in a win in Toronto, he now has 7 triple-doubles this month alone.
This ties an NBA record with “His Airness” himself.

Any time you reach a level only previously reached by Michael Jordan, you are doing something special.
Playing at the level of a player who dominated the 1990s must have convinced Kevin Durant that we are still living in the 1990s as he decided to raise the roof down the sideline after Westbrook’s tomahawk jam in the 2nd quarter of last night’s game.

Westbrook is averaging 21.2 points, 10.9 assists and 8.6 rebounds this month and will have an opportunity against the Pistons Tuesday night and the Clippers Thursday night to set a new mark for most triple-doubles in a month. Will he accomplish this feat? I think he will.
