Nike continues the tradition of releasing a special colorway for Kevin Durant’s aunt with the ‘Aunt Pearl’ KD 7.
Inspired by the angel tattoo on Kevin Durant’s back, the ‘Aunt Pearl’ colorway of the Nike KD 7 is a Premium release colored in mostly white with gold branding accents and minimal pint hits seen in the Zoom Air heel capsule and dynamic Flywire cables. The forefoot strap is transformed into an angelish wing with print from KD’s memorial back tattoo on the inside of the tongue.
Previous ‘Aunt Pearl’ KD colorways are often mistaken as being specifically for breast cancer due to the Kay Yow pink ribbon branding, but Kevin’s actual Aunt Pearl died of lung cancer back in 2001.
The ‘Aunt Pearl’ Nike KD 7 Premium releases on Thursday, February 19th for $170.
