In a few short years, Under Armour has tremendously impacted the basketball sneaker landscape with features in their kicks that have been present since inception now prominently seen on other sportswear company’s shoes.
Most obvious of them all is the sky-high ankle collar. First seen on the Under Armour Charge BB, this extra ankle protection idea is one that was attractive to last season’s Team Armour signee and current UA basketball frontman Stephen Curry.
With a few quality basketball footwear selections for the current season, the standout hoops shoe is the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive. Even before the lowtop and regular hightop ClutchFit Drive came out, elite Under Armour players like Kemba Walker (we broke this story) and Stephen Curry have been wearing the Highlight version; which features an abnormally high ankle collar.
We first found out that the ClutchFit Drive silhouette would first come in this extreme height after seeing Stephen Curry post a picture of the trio in Team USA colors during this past summer before the sneaker was even officially announced.
The three pictured colorways of the Under Amour ClutchFit Drive Highlight are available exclusively thru the Eastbay webstore for $150.
