After news of Dwyane Wade not renewing his Jordan Brand contract to start Brand WADE under Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning shook the internet & sneaker community in late 2012, the hype behind the new signature line fizzled due to a lack of a wide US release of the shoes.
At the time of posting, Li-Ning has the following NBA players signed to sneaker endorsements:
Dwyane Wade – Miami Heat
Evan Turner – Philadelphia 76ers
Will Bynum – Detroit Pistons
Udonis Haslem – Miami Heat
Dorrell Wright – Portland Trail Blazers
The signing of Bynum comes about a week or two after Dorrell Wright was announced as the first player signed under the Li-Ning subsidy WADE Brand. Both Wright and Bynum will be wearing the Li-Ning Way Of Wade II until all the Li-Ning players “make the change” into the post-season version of the shoe.
