Despite the entire Nike Basketball Elite collection being official announced late in March, different colorways of these signature sneakers updated specifically for the NBA Playoffs have began to circulate around.
While much hasn’t been seen of the new Nike Elite sneakers for defending NBA Champion LeBron James or elder statesman of the league Kobe Bryant, it is the sneaker for the youngest player of the Nike Elite trio in Kevin Durant whose KD V Elite has already been seen on-feet in multiple different color combinations.
Ditching the high cut of original Nike KD V, the KD V Elite has a lower up similar to the height on the previous two Kevin Durant signature sneakers, the post-season KD 5 features carbon fiber upgrades to the heel counter and underfoot shank for a springy, more responsive feel during basketball games.
After prominent features in the latest Gatorade commercial as well as already being seen on the feet of KD’s close friend Randy Williams, all of these looks only builds anticipation for the upcoming Nike KD V redux.
Until we get our hands on a pair to wear/test, we welcome the influx of pictures showing different colorways that will likely not be made available to the public but with Kevin Durant you never know. He’s a sneaker guy who is very aware of how kicks are treated these days by others so don’t be surprised to more exclusive KD V Elite colorways pop up as well as a few of these gems actually hit stores.
