Showing real hometown loyalty, Under Armour always puts on for their city by making Player Exclusives for the University of Maryland basketball team. With the recent release of the Micro G Torch, the Terrapins will see a new PE set when their season starts.
Here through Twitpics and Instagram pictures from various team members, we see that the Torch Low will serve as the home sneaker due to the mostly white upper and the standard Torch dressed in black will be worn at away games. Inspiration for both sneaker designs are drawn from the Maryland state flag. The 3M accents that Under Armour has adapted onto all their premiere basketball sneakers can be seen on the eyelet panels as well as the heel and tongue UA branding.
Those looking to buy a pair of Torch Lows might be out of luck since I have official word that they will only be available to Under Armour-sponsored teams and players. Both the regular Torch and Torch Low possess a similar design to the Bloodline & Juke the team wore in January in honor of former Terrapins coach Gary Williams.
If these were available to buy or popped up on Under Armour’s “PE Friday” flash sale would you pick up a pair? Let us know in the comment box below.
