Chris Bosh has been focused on his comeback for tonight’s critical Game 5 against the Boston Celtics. As you probably are already aware, Bosh has been sidelined with a strained abdominal muscle. But Bosh was part of some events the past couple days that would deal anyone a distraction too difficult to ignore. Bosh and his wife paid for the services of an in-home masseuse on Monday. Although the masseuse showed up at their house in good spirits and appearing to be healthy, she certainly didn’t leave that way.
Bosh and his wife Adrienne Bosh released a statement through the Heat on Tuesday night.
“Last evening, a massage therapist that we have used for some time, arrived at our home to provide massage therapy,” the Bosh’s statement said. “Shortly after she arrived, she fainted and lost consciousness. We called 911 and emergency personnel arrived at our home shortly thereafter. They took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she passed away. Our hearts go out to her family. We are very sorry for their loss.”
There doesn’t seem to be any foul play involved. With that said the police still need to go through their standard death investigation procedures and rule on a cause before anyone is fully cleared…
Police spokeswoman Vivian Hernandez said the department will conduct its standard death investigation. The report says a friend of the victim told officials she had survived cancer about a year ago. The cause of the woman’s collapse and eventual death weren’t in the report.
Miami Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra said Bosh was focused at today’s shoot around, and is still waiting on details of the case to emerge.
