Kevin Durant gets it from his mama…new sneakers that is.
The team at Nike Basketball gave Mama KD full reign over when creating a special pair of the Zoom KD IV for Kevin, power even surpassing the amount of options available on NikeiD for the same sneaker. A metallic green, Wanda’s favorite color, makes up most of the sneaker with silver seen on the heel and inner ankle on the upper. A gold number 7 for luck is seen on the tongue and the words “God is good to us all” is stitched around an and interlocking “WP” as a type of signature from the designer of this pair replaces the usual “KD” branding.
Those who remember that the red adiZero Rose 2.5 that dropped a little while ago was named after Derrick Rose’s mother Brenda, so mother-inspired sneakers are nothing new to this shortened NBA season.
This pair looks like it would fit right at home if the Thunder decided to bring back their Seattle Supersonics logo. That might be the next time you get to see them because as of now the ‘Wanda Pratt’ Zoom KD IV has no release date and, as far as I know, Nike has no plans on giving these a barcode.
