The Moose is no longer on the loose in the valley of the sun.
The Suns and Greg Monroe agreed to a buyout for the remainder of his $17 million annual salary for this season.

Monroe played well in limited minutes and opportunity in Phoenix, averaging 12.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20 appearances and 14 starts, but he made little sense on a roster already crammed with centers and a Suns team that is much closer to the No. 1 pick and the bottom of the league than it is to any form of playoff contention.
Monroe is a throwback player with his back to the basket game and post scoring ability, but his inability to defend the rim or knock down a jump shot consistently have made him out of vogue in the NBA quickly.
He is still only 27 and very good at what he brings to a team, so you can be assured he will be coveted on the buyout market for a number of teams.
There have already been four teams linked to Monroe: Celtics, Pelicans, Spurs and Wizards.

Monroe will add some offensive and rebounding for a contending team in 15 or 20 minutes per game and should have a new home in the next few days.
