Watch: 6 Kentucky Recruits Go Off In McDonald’s All American Game

With his unbelievable history of securing top recruits and continually sending multiple players each and every year on to the NBA ranks, University of Kentucky coach John Calipari is hands down the nation’s best recruiter.

Ever since he left Memphis for Kentucky back prior to the ’09-’10 season, Cal and his staff has secured the nation’s top 1 or 2 rated recruiting classes, leading to an impressive 123-26 record, including winning the 2012 NCAA National Title.

While last season’s class, headlined by potential #1 NBA draft pick Nerlens Noel, led only to a disappointing first round exit in the NIT Tournament, Calipari has quite possibly secured the best recruiting class in NCAA history for next year by securing 7 high profile, elite level recruits, featuring 6 McDonald’s All Americans.

The talented group led by #3 overall recruit Julius Randle, made a splash a few days ago in the annual McDonald’s All American Game, with the “Super Six” recruits chipping in 47 points and 23 rebounds for their respective squads.

While Randle tallied 12 points and7 boards, center Dakari Johnson added 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Twin brothers Andrew and Aaron Harrison scored a combined 16 points and dropped 9 assists, while elite SF James Young could only muster 6 points after getting whacked by an inadvertent Aaron Gordon elbow during the week, and forward Marcus Lee added 2 points in limited action.

Let’s not forget that the nation’s top recruit, and fellow McDonald’s All American Andrew Wiggins, is still listing the Wildcats along with North Carolina and Kansas, as a potential landing spot as well.  It looks like UK reloads rather than rebuilds in Lexington.

Check out all 6 Kentucky recruits showing out in last week’s 2013 McDonald’s All American Game…….
