MJ vs. Kobe: Top 40 In-Game Dunks [Video]

July 16, 2010 – Allen Moll

With Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers winning back-to-back NBA Titles, and Kobe personally winning his 5th ring, he is inching closer and closer to Michael Jordan’s 6 World Titles, which are universally regarded as the benchmark for greatness in the modern era. While it’s true that big men like Bill Russell and Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s accomplishments, when it comes to winning titles either equal or surpass MJ, but when it comes to All-Time great guards, Jerry West, Kobe, and the G.O.A.T, will arguably go down as the best 3 shooting guards that the game has ever seen.

So before we anoint Lebron, Wade, and Bosh in tandem as some of the greatest players of All-Time (even though they have only 1 chip between them),  let’s take a look at the  two players that have already proven to be great, by winning 11 titles in conjunction with being two of the greatest in-game dunkers of All-Time. MJ and Kobe have 3 Slam Dunk Titles between them and countless of other Hall of Fame type, in your face jams, that those who grew up anywhere in the late 80‘s to early 2000‘s, will forever remember as truly being sensationally mind blowing.

My man mamba9381 on youtube,  has put together a great compilation, or rather countdown, ranking the Top 40 in game dunks by both Jordan and Bryant that sure brings back some great memories of how the game was supposed to be played. For those of you that were too young to see just why Jordan was given the name “Air Jordan”, this video will school you on why. One noteable ommision was Jordan’s memorable facial dunk on Dikembe Motumbo, then doing his patented fingerwave back at “Deke.” While watching, I found myself on countless occasions just saying…………..Wow! Watch and enjoy.
