Detroit has Love for Chauncey Billups

I have been watching NBA basketball for many years now. With that said, I don’t recall a time since Michael Jordan was on his ‘farewell tour’ that any visiting player was cheered as loudly and as long as Chauncey Billups was in Detroit a couple nights ago during his pre-game introduction with his new team the Denver Nuggets.

And for good reason. Too often players make negative comments about their old team after being traded. Although Billups was surprised at being traded, he had nothing but positive things to say about the Pistons, the fans, and the City. That, the NBA Championship, and multiple Conference Titles with the Pistons are surely enough to earn Billups some love from the Motor City.

Chauncey Billups just smiled, clapped, and waved as the crowd was going wild. I’ve seen a few video replays of the pre-game introduction now. Many of which were polished and professionally done.
