The Boston Celtics were one win away from the NBA Finals last season with two all-star caliber players on the shelf in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. It would be safe to assume they’re the heavy favorite to make the NBA Finals this season with the eastern conference’s ruler, LeBron James, having moved out west right? Jaylen Brown thinks so.
Here is what he said on the “Pull Up With C.J. McCollum” podcast:
“Oh, we’re getting to the Finals,” Brown said. “No question about it.”
While saying anyone other than the Celtics would make the finals from the east would be way worse and the Celtics are the big favorite, saying it with such conviction and matter of fact tone could come back to bite Brown if they don’t live up to his promise and I can guarantee guys like Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry are listening.
The Celtics will be very interesting to watch this season as their young studs Brown and Jayson Tatum will not get as much opportunity as they did last season to be the focal point of the offense with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward back.
