Nets Trade Tyler Zeller to Bucks

Zeller

In what one would assume will be one of the more ho-hum trades of the next few days leading up to the deadline, the Bucks acquired Tyler Zeller from the Nets.

Here is a breakdown of what Brooklyn received for dealing their back up center:

So essentially Brooklyn is receiving Milwaukee’s 2020 2nd round pick and a young player who has failed to establish himself in the NBA in Rashad Vaughn.

Not a whole lot of analysis is needed here, Zeller had been losing minutes in Brooklyn with the emergence of rookie center Jarrett Allen (who looks straight out of the 1970s with his afro and stache combo) and with Allen and well-paid center Timofey Mozgov manning the middle, there was little to no use for Zeller. Milwaukee meanwhile has been on the search for an upgrade at the center position and more depth in the front court, so they saw Zeller as a useful piece for added depth.

I don’t think this prevents the Bucks from pursuing DeAndre Jordan over the next few days, but it might signal that they feel it is unlikely they get him.
