Ah yes, now that the popularity contest that is the All-Star starters from each conference has come and gone (coaches and media have a say in that now as well) yesterday was the time for the remaining 14 All-Star players to be named, seven from each conference of course.

These final selections are the most interesting in my opinion because they are chosen directly by the coaches, which means these are the guys who are seen as the most valuable players in the game by NBA coaches and personnel.

Here are the seven All-Star reserves for each conference:

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Russell Westbrook
Klay Thompson
Damian Lillard
Jimmy Butler
LaMarcus Aldridge
Draymond Green
Karl-Anthony Towns

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Kyle Lowry
Victor Oladipo
John Wall
Bradley Beal
Kristaps Porzingis
Al Horford
Kevin Love

The Warriors have an incredible four All-Star players for the second consecutive season.

There are also four first-timers in the mix in Victor Oladipo (the biggest surprise coming into this season), Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal and Karl-Anthony Towns.

There are always a number of snubs as they call it each season as there just aren’t enough spots for every player who is playing for a high-level for a team that is playing solid basketball.

The biggest exclusions this year appear to be Chris Paul, Andre Drummond, Paul George and Lou Williams to name a few.

It will be interesting to see if Steph Curry selects all of his Warriors teammates to join his squad, I feel like that would be the best course of action for him.
