James Harden to Miss 2 Weeks With Hamstring Strain

The Houston Rockets just became Chris Paul’s team for the next few weeks.

The Rockets superstar shooting guard and potential MVP favorite at the moment, James Harden, will miss at least two weeks of action as he recovers from a grade 2 hamstring strain suffered in the Rockets-Lakers game on Sunday night.

This is a really big deal and could shift the power balance of the western conference. Harden will be re-evaluated in two weeks, but with this level of a strain the healing time is typically a month or longer and Harden could potentially be out until the all-star break if his recovery doesn’t go as smoothly as the Rockets hope.

Chris Paul is still one of the 10 or so best players in the entire league and can carry a team to a ton of wins as its primary ball handler and star so don’t expect the Rockets to falter too much with Harden’s absence.

The long-term goal for the Rockets will be to have both ready and integrating with one another by March or April, which could mean allowing Harden more time to heal than a team may allow in most situations like this with a superstar player.
