Alas the drama and complication surrounding the mega trade between the two premier teams in the eastern conference featuring Kyrie Irving being dealt to the Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas has been completed and finalized.
After a week of re-negotiation and concern after Cavaliers doctors feared the risk of re-injury for Thomas with his hip after evaluating him in a physical, the two sides have finally come to an agreement for a trade, for real this time.
Here you go:
Boston Recieves: Kyrie Irving
Cleveland Receives: Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, Brooklyn’s 2018 1st Round Pick and Miami’s 2020 2nd Round Pick

To only end up receiving an additional 2nd round pick after all of the drama that transpired over the last week feels like much ado about nothing.
This pick essentially adds zero value to the trade and it wasn’t necessary to add value in the first place because with Thomas healthy and ready to play this season, Cleveland acquired quite a haul from a conference rival in a situation where they knew they had to deal their disgruntled star before training camp.
Ultimately this trade makes a lot of sense for both teams and will make the chase for the eastern conference finals infinitely more interesting next season.
