The Lance Stephenson experiment is over in Minnesota and the T’Wolves have now acquired former King and noted rare DeMarcus Cousins buddy, Omri Casspi.

Casspi’s stay in New Orleans was about as brief as Andrew Bogut’s in Cleveland as Casspi broke his thumb in his first game with the Pelicans, which caused the Pelicans to waive him.
Although a few teams were reportedly interested in Casspi and could have used his shooting ability and offensive talents as added depth for their stretch run like the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers or Memphis Grizzlies, the Timberwolves were the ones able to pounce on Casspi.
Kind of an odd move for Casspi to opt to sign with a team for the remainder of the season that is not going to be in the postseason when he had the teams mentioned above interested in acquiring his services, but I guess the opportunity for even more minutes in Minnesota with their injuries, especially to Zach LaVine, has convinced Casspi he can showcase his abilities to get a better deal this off-season.
