Aldridge Cleared to Return Wednesday Night

What originally was thought to potentially be a huge blow to the San Antonio Spurs title aspirations and shot at a No. 1 seed in the western conference, thankfully has only proven to be a brief concern.

Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge has been cleared by team doctors for his heart arrhythmia, which caused the star forward to miss the Spurs previous two games.

This is great news for Aldridge and the Spurs as heart issues can always be scary and even though the team termed the issue as “minor” when it was announced last Saturday, there was still fear that he could miss extended time or the remainder of the season before being cleared.

Team doctors first noticed the issue after the Spurs game in Oklahoma City on March 9. They ran a number of tests and exams.

Here is Head Coach Gregg Popovich’s statement on this very positive news:

Aldridge is a full go for the Spurs game against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight.

This is great news for the western conference playoffs as the Spurs appear to be more and more of a threat to dethrone the Warriors for a trip to the NBA Finals.
