2017 All-Star Game Uniforms Revealed

all-star

Believe it or not we are already approaching the mid-way point of the NBA season and All-Star weekend is right around the corner.

This year’s game is returning to New Orleans for the third time since 2008 after it was moved from its original location of Charlotte after the controversial HB2 law or “Bathroom Bill”

One of the best parts of the All-Star game is the reveal of the specific uniforms for the western and eastern conference game. Most are designed and centered around a unique aspect of the community and city the game is held in a particular year. The NBA affords a good deal of creativity for the uniforms as they have vastly different designs each year while sticking with the red and blue base for the western and eastern conference jerseys (except for the regrettable era of the late 1990s and early 2000s where players each wore their own team uniform).

A few tweets leaked Thursday morning with the designs for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game uniforms for each conference.

Here is an image of both conference jersey and warm-ups…

At first glance these lack imagination and are some of the most forgettable uniforms in the history of the game and don’t seem to call out the rich history and culture of New Orleans at all, unlike the 2014 game in New Orleans…

No jerseys will top the 1995 version in Phoenix for me…

One can only hope that since the NBA itself has not unveiled these uniforms that they will be altered slightly before this year’s game.
