It appears that the fractured relationship between stretch big man Donatas Moteijunas and the Houston Rockets, which worsened during the bizarre drawn out contract hold-out, has not improved now that he has a new four-year, $37 million contract with the team.
He was a no-show for his physical Tuesday, and appears to be upset that the Rockets have matched the Nets offer.

This is a very risky and non-savvy move for Motiejunas. His status with the team and their rights to him as a restriced free agent means they have complete control and could choose anytime between now and March 1 to undo their offer sheet should they desire. A failed physical by Motiejunas would invalidate the offer sheet and allow the Nets to acquire him.
I understand the ill will toward the organization as well as his frustration. Passing up guaranteed money after losing out on potential earnings and not stepping into a role on a team that fits his skill set very well may be a decision he will regret.
It will be interesting to monitor this stand still moving forward.
