The Bucks went a long way toward securing a vital member of their burgeoning core Monday morning as they agreed to a four-year, $100 million extension with budding superstar jack of all trades Giannis Antetokounmpo.

This deal is genius and a massive, repeat massive, coo for the Milwaukee Bucks organization as they not only locked up one of the most intriguing and exciting young talents in the NBA, but they managed to do it for less than the max and with no player options or opt-outs. This is a legitimate, old school four year contract.
The Greek Freak is still only 21 years old and broke out in his 3rd NBA season, averaging 16.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and over a steal and a block per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field and being a positive offensive and defensive player.
Not to mention the fact that he registered four triple-doubles from February on and incredibly is projected to be the Bucks starting point guard this season at 6’1″. That isn’t a match-up nightmare, it is a match-up massacre.
With the way the cap is increasing, Antetokounmpo is worth $23 million this season and barring injury issues will easily be worth the max salary level possibility of over $27 million in the 2020-21 season.
The Greek Freak has limitless potential as a player which the NBA has never really seen and could develop into a point guard version of Scottie Pippen which should frighten the rest of the NBA. This is a very savvy move by the Bucks and a well placed bet on Antetokoounmpo’s very bright future.
