As we all know the eyes of the world are currently on Rio as the 2016 Summer Olympic Games are underway and will dominate the sports world for the next few weeks.
One of the many sports featured in the games is Olympic basketball. The game of basketball is now a global game and high level talent is present across the board.
In order for local merchandisers to capitalize on the proliferation of basketball and NBA fanatics in town for the Olympics games, they have been selling some “NBA” merchandise for fans to purchase.
Unfortunately they have missed the mark a little bit by confusing cities, sports and even operating under the assumption that an NBA merger has taken place.
I introduce to you the New Boston Celtees…
And I don't even know where to start with this Yankee-pinstriped "Celtics" jersey I'm gonna buy for @billsimmons … pic.twitter.com/wQSoCvQzr8

It is a safe assumption to call the Celtics the Yankees of the NBA per say (you could also argue the Lakers are, which is what I think) but this misguided jersey mash-up is pretty hilarious when you consider the two cities have an intense sports rivalry and for all intents and purposes hate one another.
Now for the NBA’s newest merger, I’m not sure if you heard the report, I’m pretty sure Adrian Wojnarowski broke it, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Brooklyn Nets have merged to become the Brooklyn Blazenets!
Here in Brazil they seem to be under the impression that the Nets and Trail Blazers have merged … pic.twitter.com/TMOV0Rcrra

Allen Crabbe’s restricted free agency was all for nothing apparently as this is your typical merger of an up and coming company like the Blazers purchasing another company like the Nets who have seen profits and their stock plummet. Lillard in Brooklyn should be fun.
It’s always enjoyable to make fun of terrible sports memorabilia knock-offs, thank you for the chuckle Brazil.
