Spanish news outlets reported that star center Marc Gasol will not be ready to play for the Spanish National Team in the Rio Olympics.

Gasol has been recovering from a broken foot suffered in February, it was unlikely that he was going to be ready to go to the games but the national team still hoped the former All-NBA center would be able to play for his country in Rio.
Spain will still have one Gasol, Pau, and other talented bigs like Nikola Mirotic and Knicks rookie Willie Hernangomez. Not having Marc Gasol is still a huge blow for their slim hopes to take down Team USA for the gold.
Fans in Memphis are probably relieved with this decision as they need their big man and leader healthy if they want to return to western conference contention next season.
