It wasn’t exactly a star studded NBA skills challenge this year, but you did have the Raptors Kyle Lowry and the Bucks Brandon Knight. While Atlanta was routing for Jeff Teague, you just had the feeling Knight or Lowry were going to take it.
Knight did make it to the finals, but it was the underdog Patrick Beverley of the Rockets that had back to back come from behind wins to take the final round and win the competition. The format was a bit different this year, with only one passing skill and one three pointer made the contest much more about speed and pressure to hit a final three pointer, than it did to master diverse skills like previous years.
