Just right after signing the center to a $5.5 million qualifying offer—the Pistons will miss Monroe in their first two games, which are on the road, first one against the Denver Nuggets and then the Minnesota Timberwolves. His imposing presence in the paint has greatly benefited the team in both offense and defense for the past few seasons and this is definitely bad news for Detroit fans out there.
Throughout his 4 years in the league, the 24-year-old center averages 13.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
