This week, the news that the Kings higher ups were finalizing a team sale and relocation to Seattle broke. Per, Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Maloofs (co owners) were in the process of wrapping up a deal.

It is now clear that the deal is far from finalized. Prior to Thursday afternoon, it appeared that the deal sending the Kings to Seattle had little more than a handful of semantics to work through.
George Maloof evidently didn’t see it that way.

The storm of questions around the Kings sale/ not sale continues unhindered as of Thursday afternoon. The Seattle Times had also broken the story of the Kings’ sale, citing an unnamed NBA source.
In an update to the story, a source close to the Maloofs has told the Sacramento Bee that there was nothing imminent due to the fact that there was no price on the table. In fact, according to the Bee’s source, there had been no contact between the Maloofs and the Seattle financier to which the Kings were reportedly being sold.
There’s more to come from this, to be sure.
