Even though it was an all too close 7 point victory over Spain in the Gold Medal Game of the Olympics, the second closest margin of victory ever in a Final, something can be said for Team USA’s all too impressive ride to make it there.
Whether it was Carmelo Anthony’s record 37 points in limited minutes against Nigeria, Lebron’s recording the first ever triple-double in Olympic competition vs Australia, or Kevin Durant’s impressive 30 points in the Gold Medal Game, witnessing Team USA’s run for gold was every bit as memorable as seeing some of the NBA’s best players on the medal stand at the end with the National Anthem playing.
If we didn’t already know, a few things that we learned during the Olympic experience are that Kevin Durant is the best scorer on any team in the World, Russell Westbrook may be the most athletic player we have on any roster, and finally that Lebron James is the best basketball player on the planet.
In case you were like me and had a hard time catching the games at a decent time on television, fanatical youtube user Kietass put all of Team USA’s top plays into one Top 10 list for us to bear witness the the dominance that was USA Basketball in London.
While we may all argue over which play should be ranked #1, the sweet full court bounce pass from Lebron to Durant in stride for the dunk at #6 will probably be synonymous with this team going forward. Wasn’t it nice that little used Anthony Davis makes the list at #10?
