Nike Zoom LeBron X – ‘Olympic Gold Medal’

August 14, 2012 – Ben Berry

LeBron James was possibly bred to do certain things. Either that or he is a freak of nature. We all know that we would have to look far-and-wide to find someone built like LeBron and with that being said, a technically advanced sneaker is more beneficial than most consumers know.

Introducing the LeBron X, an exposed full-length Zoom Air unit on this marks the first basketball sneaker to do this. The dynamic Flywire is used to reinforce the upper made from Hyperfuse construction. First debuted on the Lunar Hyperdunk 2012, the revamped Nike+ will be compatible on the newest LeBron sneaker making this the first signature to feature the basketball-specific version of the performance tracker. Unlike the pair worn by James during the USA/Spain gold medal game, this pair features golden branding that is very Watch The Throne-ish due to the textured material used on the Swoosh logo.

Since coming to the league, the comparison between LeBron James and Michael Jordan has been kicked around to great a great extent and with the James having the full support from Nike the way Jordan did, its easy to see why. One thing that will always separate the two is the amount of time that passed for each of them to win their first title. We all know that Mike first earned a NBA Championship ring in the Jordan VI whereas it took LeBron three years longer. Keep it tuned to our Kicks section for info as the LeBron X as it is sure to come.
