Surely everyone’s heard the sayings “don’t throw stones in a glass house” or “isn’t that like the pot calling the kettle black” when it comes to all things ironic?
Well, it’s also very ironic to see arguably the NBA’s most mental player Metta World Peace in a PSA commercial promoting good mental health. The former Mr Ron Artest has a long and lengthy history of odd and unusual, even sometimes criminal behavior over his decade long NBA career that has featured fines, suspensions, and even an unusual name change to World Peace just prior to last season. Remember, this is the guy who once thanked Jesus for his adult teeth.
Most noteworthy in his Hall of Shame moments include his major role in the now infamous Malice at the Palace brawl back in ’04 and that ill advised elbow to the head of OKC Thunder guard James Harden just this season that earned him a 7 game suspension.
But as we all know that mental illness is a serious, yet often untreated illness, watch as Metta World peace transforms into “Metta Man”, armed with a 40 pound curling stone, to complete a backboard shattering triple slam dunk after a wild free fall skateboard ride through the skyline of New York to promote Mental Health Awareness……
