Nike takes full advantage of the beginning of the ’11 – ’12 NBA season by dropping speacial editions for three of their biggest players in Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant. The “Cheetah” Zoom Kobe VII Supreme, “Christmas” LeBron 9, and “Copper” Zoom KD IV all release on the first day of league play which happens to be Christmas Day.
Widely seen and talked about, the sneaker that definitely has gotten the most attention out of this pack is the ‘Cheetah’ Zoom Kobe 7. Even if you’ve seen almost daily images of it, what hasn’t been shown very often is the Attack Fast insert which is seen on the left side/right shoe. This should also clear up any thought of a green color being in the sneaker that some had due to some deceiving pictures. I know it was the hope of many that the ‘Grinch’ colorway would make a second coming on the Kobe 7 the same way it was on the Kobe 6.
A few days before it was announced that the lockout would officially be ending, I was on the courts after a game saying how bad it would be that there is no basketball on Christmas so I’m glad we don’t have to worry about that now. Note that the LeBron 9 is really the only Christmas-themed sneaker out of the three of these.
