Just when you think Derek Fisher’s NBA career is about to be over, he makes a victory lap. Fisher will be back for another season next year with the OKC Thunder. Since the Thunder are still a relatively young squad, Fisher’s veteran presence is much welcomed, particularly in the playoffs.
He won’t get a ton of playing time, but who knows what impact he’s making with the younger guys during practice and in the locker room. That sort of stuff can’t be quantified.
The Oklahoma City Thunder re-signed guard Derek Fisher on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old Fisher has spent parts of the last two seasons with the Thunder, averaging 4.5 points in 44 regular-season games. He has averaged 7.1 points in 31 playoff games for them.
The five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers has appeared in 240 postseason games.
