Grizzlies Sign Vince Carter

vince_carter_dwightEight-time all-star Vince Carter has reached a three-year, $12 million dollar contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

At the age of 37, Carter has still proven that he can show remnants of his young self and consistently contribute good numbers at a given night, like what he did in the past three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks.

Coming off the bench last season, he averaged respectable numbers with 11.9 points, 3.5 rebound, and 2.6 assists per game. Also, he shoots the 3-pointer with at a deadly percentage (37.9%). He was indeed a very productive sixth-man for Dallas.

This acquisition by the Grizzlies will surely be a huge boost to their bench, as Mike Miller will most probably follow LeBron to Cleveland next season. And basing his performance last season, Carter can definitely still be an imposing threat to any team.

Throughout his 16 seasons in the NBA, Carter has averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
