Cleveland Cavaliers Win Draft Lottery, Will Pick First

Dan Gilbert’s son, Nick, has done it again. Two years ago, Dan send his son Nick and his bowtie to represent the Cleveland Cavaliers at the NBA Draft Lottery the year after LeBron left. And it worked. The Cavs won the #1 overall pick that year and took Kyrie Irving.

This year, same result, the Cavs won the lottery again making it 2 of the last 3 years.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will make the first overall pick in the NBA draft on June 27, as they got the right ping-pong ball in Tuesday night’s draft lottery, as reported byPlain Dealer Cavaliers beat writer Mary Schmitt Boyer. 

The Cavs also have the 19th pick in the first round, a selection which originally belonged to the Los Angeles Lakers. And, the Cavaliers also own the first and third picks in the second round, at Nos. 31 (originally Orlando’s pick) and 33.
