In an upcoming auction, LeBron James further personalizes a pair of the Nike LeBron X that he already wrote on before a game this past December.
This is the same pair that LeBron laced up with the Miami Heat to play the Washington Wizards just days after the Newtown Elementary School shooting news broke. Taking the tribute a step further, during an Upper Deck athlete signing session LeBron broke out the marker again to add additional personalization like his autograph on the right sneaker while saving the game date (12/15/12) and the words “never forget” on the toe for the left.
Upper Deck says that the average game-worn pair of sneakers sells from anywhere between $1k-$5,000 usually so look for these to vastly exceed that number. The auction hasn’t gone live yet, but look out for the follow up on this along with the results after the gavel drops because I’m sure the sale price will be astronomical.
PS: anyone notice LeBron signing left-handed?
