Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett are not the types of guys to be too quick to heap praise on rookies. They are firm believers in earning your stripes and working your a$% off. They are also the types of leaders that ‘lead by example’ in the work ethic department. But Rondo in the first Celtics’ practice at home was quick to anoint big man Jared Sullinger as the ‘smartest rookie we’ve had since I’ve been here.’ He went on to say “”He’s very intelligent — high basketball IQ — and he’s very unselfish. He doesn’t need a play called for him. He’s just been getting his points off the little dirty work.” It sounds like a more talented version of Big Baby Glen Davis as a rookie, no?
