Video: Painting Yao Ming With A Basketball
The artist known as “Red” in web circles is more than a bit unconventional when it comes to her craft. She is not only beautiful physically, she also produces beautiful art using various objects. What makes her relevant to us here at The Hoop Doctors is her recent piece of work where she painted retired Houston Rockets center Yao Ming. What makes the work original is how she painted him. She used nothing but red paint and….a BASKETBALL!
Here is how Red describes herself on her personal blog:
I love to create art. Not with the usual paintbrush and watercolour and pencils though – I like to grab whatever I can get hold of – rocks, ketchup, milk, salt, shirts – and turn them into art. It’s more fun that way!
So, why ‘Red’? My surname, Hong, sounds like the word ‘red’ in Mandarin. And that became my nickname, and that’s how I came up with this blog address.
