Michael Jordan Interviews OJ Simpson (1988)

July 6, 2009 – Dr. J-Water

If you are a regular reader of The Hoop Doctors, you might be wondering if someone named the Monday after the 4th of July, “Vintage Video Monday” or something. After this morning’s 1988 video of Michael Jordan vs. Kenny Rogers in a basketball game, I figured you might enjoy this 1988 video of Michael Jordan interviewing OJ Simpson.

Talk about an oddball pairing right? Well maybe not. These days we sometimes forget about all of Simpson’s football accomplishments given how much his name has become synonymous with the murder trial of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Or even more recently the robbery and kidnapping conviction in a Las Vegas Casino. Well in this vintage video Michael Jordan interviews O.J., and the editing shows brief footage of key games, touchdowns and rushes that made him a football legend.

It’s funny how this interview by Jordan is better than many professional reporter’s interviews. Granted MJ may have been fed the questions.

I speak for 75% of the population when I say that the only reason this topic is popular today is because people are curious to hear a current OJ interview and hear how he’ll try and justify what he didn’t really think he did. Unfortunately your post title was shortened in my feed reader or I would not have found your site. OJ’s past accomplishments are insignificant compared to what he will be remembered for…a rich man who killed his wife and was able to buy a free get out of jail card because his spin doctor lawyers put a then new technology called DNA evidence into question. Too bad you can’t be tried twice for the same crime, any kid today knows what DNA evidence is and would tell you he deserved the death penalty. Just let the man fade into obscurity where he belongs.
