Video of the Day: Lebron James Flip Shot is ‘Jordanesque’

Lebron James has had many magical plays this season for the Cleveland Cavaliers. None of which could have been much higher on a degree of difficulty scale than one particular score from last night’s game against the Detroit Pistons. It reminded me of a particular Michael Jordan play from the early MJ Bulls era when Jordan was breaking down the right sideline after a Bulls steal, turned his back to the defensive man and the basket, drew the foul, then flipped the ball up over his head and in to prompt an eruption from the crowd. Even though Lebron James was looking at the goal, whereas Michael Jordan’s play was seemingly blinded, both were eerily similar, and equally impressive when considering the degree of difficulty.
Some may call these shots ‘lucky’, but when you consider how often great players like Lebron James or a Michael Jordan have successfully scored on such plays, you have to wonder if luck has anything to do with it at all. I’m a believer, or actually in Lebron’s case, i’m a ‘Witness’. Check out both plays here:
